A 26-year real estate veteran, Joe Brown is the president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, Silicon Valley’s largest and most productive real estate firm. In his position, Joe oversees 14 offices and more than 1,100 sales associates. Joe assumed the position of president and COO in April, 2006. Prior to that, he served as managing broker of the company’s San Jose Main and Willow Glen offices.

Brown, who has lived and worked in the San Jose area most of his life, began his real estate career in 1980 and earned his broker’s license in 1986. At that time, he owned his own company, Number One Realtors® – Better Homes and Gardens, with two sales offices in Campbell and a mortgage company. In 1990, Brown was appointed manager of Contempo Realty’s Willow Glen office. He built the office into one of the most profitable in the company, overseeing 83 sales professionals. In 1998, Brown became manager of Prudential Realty’s San Jose office.

Highly regarded as a top recruiter, Brown has been credited several times in his career with bringing in top real estate talent and ultimately expanding his company’s operations. With Prudential Realty, Brown opened the company’s San Jose office with no agents and within two years built a team of 53 sales associates. As manager of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in San Jose, he expanded his team from 84 agents to 206 in just four years. Of those recruits, many were ranked among the top 100 agents in Silicon Valley.

Joe is a native of San Jose. He and his wife have two children. In his spare time, Joe enjoys hiking, golf and traveling. He is also an active sports fan and enjoys going to San Jose Sharks, Oakland A’s and San Francisco Giants games.
