Kathy Korte began her real estate career in 1984 at Sotheby's International Realty in its Manhattan brokerage office. She was appointed to director of administration for SIR in 1989 with responsibility for managing the human resources department and the company's brokerage and affiliate administrative services. From 1992 through 2004, Kathy served as senior vice president and brokerage manager for SIR's Manhattan brokerage office during which time, the office's profits increased four-fold. Further growth was achieved during this period by opening two additional offices located in Downtown Manhattan and on the Upper West Side. In 2004, Korte moved into the Corporate Division of SIR, serving as executive vice president and chief operating officer of SIR's Eastern Region., overseeing 18 brokerage offices located within seven markets on the East Coast.

Korte was appointed to president and chief executive offier of Sotheby's International Realty, Inc. and regional senior vice president for NRT in November of 2006.

A member of the Westchester Board of Realtors and the Real Estate Board of New York, she served on REBNY's Inter-Firm Committee from 1992 to 2004 and on its Board of Directors in 2003 and 2004.
