Ronnie Laiken was named president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New Jersey/Rockland County, N.Y., in May 2004. With more than 60 offices and 3,500 sales associates, the company is the market leader in the communities it serves.
Laiken began her real estate career in 1984 as a sales associate in East Brunswick, N.J. In 1986, she affiliated with Schlott Realtors in Marlboro, N.J., which was acquired by Coldwell Banker five years later. Laiken was named office manager, overseeing 16 sales associates, and quickly grew the office to a sales force of 70, increasing its market share and ranking No. 1 in units sold for Monmouth County. In 2001, Laiken was promoted to regional vice president of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New Jersey/Rockland County, N.Y., and went on to become senior vice president and regional sales manager one year later.
Laiken is an advocate for Habitat for Humanity and leads the local company’s efforts to support Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corporation in their pledge to build 100 homes by 2006, in celebration of the brand’s 100th anniversary. Her previous professional affiliations include director of the Monmouth County Board of Realtors, member of the Grievance and Professional Standards Committees, and member of the task force to merge the Monmouth County and Ocean County Boards of Realtors. She also served as a member of the Search Committee for the Monmouth County Multiple Listing Service.
Prior to entering the real estate profession, Laiken spent many years in the field of education and devoted much of her time to organizations that answered the needs of children. She was elected and served as a member of the Middle County Board of Education in New York, which was responsible for a $56 million budget, and also served on the District Council. In honor of her dedication to the education and well being of children, Laiken is a past recipient of the Jenkins Memorial Award
