In October 2006, Bob Leighton was named president and chief operating officer of Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA, a member of the NRT family of companies. In that role, Leighton oversees the management of 15 offices with 500 sales associates serving Central and South Central Pennsylvania.

Previously, he served as general sales manager of the firm. Leighton joined NRT in 2002 as executive vice president of NRT's Central New England company, responsible for the Southeastern Massachusetts region encompassing 23 sales offices with some nearly 900 sales associates.

Prior to joining NRT, Leighton spent four years with the DeWolfe Company as vice president of operations for Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts. He was responsible for the operations oversight of 34 offices.

Leighton entered the real estate business in 1979, joining Leighton Realty, Inc., a firm established by his family in Eastern Connecticut. For more than 15 years, he managed the multi-office company, which was perennially one of the top brokerage operations in the region. Leighton became a minority shareholder of this firm, later acquiring the remaining interest. In 1999 Leighton's brokerage operation was acquired by The DeWolfe Companies, Inc.

Leighton received his Bachelor of Science degree in real estate and urban economics from the University of Connecticut. He lives with his wife in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
