Hal Maxwell
Senior Vice President, Mid-Atlantic Region

Hal Maxwell assumed the role of Regional Senior Vice President for NRT's Mid-Atlantic region in May 2007. In this role, he oversees NRT-owned companies in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

He previously served as president and chief operating officer of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in the Mid-Atlantic, one of the regions' largest full service real estate companies with 88 sales and rental offices and more than 4,500 sales associates, as well as its affiliated client service operations.

A 22-year real estate veteran, Maxwell's philosophy remains grounded in staying focused on "basic business principles." He is also a firm believer in giving back to the community. Under his leadership, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage has initiated numerous programs and sponsorships to benefit individual and group causes at the state, regional and local levels.

Beginning his real estate career in 1984 as a sales associate in New Jersey, Maxwell was a Coldwell Banker branch manager by 1989, leading his office through one of the largest acquisitions in Coldwell Banker history with Schlott REALTORS®. Under his direction, the office became one of the most successful in the Coldwell Banker company-owned operation, finishing in the top five nationally, both in profit and return on revenue.

Within five years, Maxwell was promoted to regional vice president overseeing 12 offices in North Bergen County. A year later, his territory was increased to a total of 25 offices, including New York's Westchester County.

Prior to accepting the presidency in the Mid-Atlantic, Maxwell served with distinction as executive vice president and general sales manager for one of the highest performing companies within the NRT family, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in New Jersey. In that role, he was responsible for the field operations of more than 3,500 sales associates in 60 offices and was instrumental in changing the focus of the new homes and commercial divisions of that company as well as developing a high level of expertise in working on Coldwell Banker acquisitions in the New York Metropolitan area.

A member of the National Association of REALTORS®, Maxwell has served on several state associations' board of realtors, chaired many committees, and is a member of the Greater Baltimore Board of REALTORS®, the Maryland Association of REALTORS®, and the National Association of REALTORS®. He served as a director for the Garden State Multiple Listing Service, the largest MLS in New Jersey, earlier in his career.

Maxwell has a strong performing arts background and holds a bachelor of science degree in marketing from the University of Colorado. He and his wife of over 30 years, Betsy, have two sons, Devin and Ryan, and reside in the Greater Baltimore area.
