In April 2005, Jim Schmidt was named NRT regional senior vice president in the Southeast. In this role, Schmidt will oversee NRT’s Coldwell Banker companies in Florida, Dallas/Ft. Worth and Atlanta.

Prior to this position, Schmidt served as president and chief operating officer for Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in Atlanta since 2001. In this capacity, he successfully led nearly 1,900 sales associates in 26 offices.

Schmidt is a 24-year veteran of residential real estate serving as sales associate, office manager, district manager, partner and regional president with the same company through four mergers and name changes. He became one of the owners of Prudential Florida in 1989 and sold the company to Arvida Realty Services in 1999. Following the sale, he served as regional president for Arvida in the Tampa Bay area, where he led 13 offices.

A graduate of Florida State University, Schmidt went into real estate sales immediately after college and became a top sales associate within two years. He is a strong advocate of consistent training and professionalism for his sales associates while also supporting the affiliated services of mortgage and title as tools for success.

Schmidt is member of the Georgia Association of REALTORS and serves on the board of the First Multiple Listing Service in Atlanta. He achieved his CRB designation in 1985.
